ANTIQUE E. RIMMEL PERFUME BOTTLES IN ORIGINAL CASKET

45 GBP

This Rimmel travel case in purple velvet features two Baccarat crystal perfume bottles - one bottle has the original fragrance label for "Violet de Parme". The set was made for the London based Rimmel Company during the 1800's. Perfumer Eugene Rimmel came to England from France in 1820 and opened the House of Rimmel with his son Eugene in 1834. He imported Baccarat bottles for his fragrances from France. This set is complete, with all of its original components in working order.

The small travel sized case is covered in purple velvet. It has a working lock complete with its original key. On the inside of the case the words “E. Rimmel” is embossed in gold. The interior of the case is lined in silk.

The Baccarat bottles have a simple squared design with ground and facet cut squared stoppers. Both of the bottles still have their original and gold labels which are inscribed, “E. Rimmel Perfumer London & Paris.” Each bottle is approx 85mm tall x 45mm in diameter. The case is approx 100mm tall x 120mm wide x 75mm deep.

The exterior of the case is in poor condition due to its age with the interior being in better condition.
